Arrival at either Madrid or Bilbao International airport. Welcome and assistance by our local English-speaking tour guide and transfer to the Ribera del Duero Region.
We begin the tour with a delicious lunch at the restaurant Cepa 21, located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero wine region. The restaurant is part of the Cepa 21 winery owned by Emilio Moro. You will enjoy a fantastic meal paired with Emlio Moro's and Cepa 21's wines.
After an extraordinay lunch, you will arrive to the winery Abadía Retuerta and Le Domaine Hotel - a fomer monastery that has been turned into a luxury hotel. Experience a first class winery visit and wine tasting of some of Abadía Retuerta's high quality wines. The excellent Petit Verdot is one of the best wines in the Ribera del Duero.
Overnight at the wonderfull Abadía Retuerta Le Domaine 5*.The day starts with a visit to historic Burgos. This beautiful city was once the capital of the Kingdom of Castille and one of the most powerful cities in Spain.
Today, the splendour of the past is still present, and among Burgos' important monument you will visit the incredible cathedral, one of the most ambitious of its kind and the first mayor building in gothic style in Spain. Afterwards enjoy a nice lunch in a nice restaurant recommended by Michelin in Burgos.
You will now enter La Rioja, the biggest high quality wine region in Spain and one of biggest in Europe. Most Spanish wine is inspired by this wine region. Rioja is the most traditional in Spain, but many wineries have renoved themselves to obtain the ideal balance between modernism and tradition. Among them the impressive winery that you will visit on this day.
At Artadi you will have a spectacular wine tasting with a wide range of quality wines.
Late afternoon arrival to a the Miró Hotel in Bilbao. This hotel is the perfect base for the next two days. The hotel is a designer hotel with an unbeatable location right next to the Guggenheim Museum.Free afternoon: take a stroll in the historic part of Bilbao, shop in the Corte Inglés or take in the views of the rennovated river area.
Dinner in one of the best restaurants in the city: Arbologaña. A restaurant on top of Bilbao's Arts Museum that combines tradition and modernity.Time for relaxation in the hotel and the last purchases. In the morning we have arranged a private tour of the fantastic Guggenheim Museum. The museum is one of the most spectacular cities in the world.
It is fortunate that the Guggenheim Museum has a gourmet restaurant. Here we have arranged a nice farewell lunch, which you can enjoy overlooking the Nervion River.
Late afternoon private transfer in a comfortable minivan from the hotel to Bilbao Airport and departure. We can help with airline tickets with e.g. KLM or Air France, both flying from Bilbao.
