According to ancient documents, the Llopart family has been making wine since 1385. A document written in Latin tells about the ancestor to the Llopart family, Bernardus Leopardi, producing wine at the estate Can Llopart, still existing today.
During the first centuries, the Llopart family were farmers producing both wine, wheat and olive oil, but from the 18th Century, the family started focusing only on wine production. 1887 was a crucial year for the wine production: this is when the first cava (sparkling wine) is produced at Llopart. Since the cava has been making cavas and from the 1950 focus has been on high quality cavas.
